I remember when Rick was first diagnosed. We were in band together at Fairmont. He was always pretty thin, but the chemo and radiation really hit him hard and puffed him up. He was very self-conscious about it, but still had a wicked sense of humor. Cancer was not nearly as common back then, and it was really scary. I admired his strength and courage, and had tremendous respect for the manner in which he dealt with it all. RIP, Rick.
